Our top-quality dry Riesling from the Saar's amphitheater – the world-famous Ockfener Bockstein vineyard. The starting material was fully ripe grapes grown on quartz-rich grey slate soil, with the must then being predominantly aged in large wooden barrels. A cool, stony aroma with reductive hints reminiscent of flint, as well as delicate minty notes. With a little aeration, bright fruit aromas of ripe citrus fruits such as grapefruit unfold, with hints of white peach. On the palate, the stony, firm profile continues: a dry attack with a firm structure and pronounced acidity, excellent minerality, and a long, complex finish with delicate nutty and yeasty notes.

A Grand Cru wine with elegance and finesse, which pairs excellently with grilled corn-fed chicken, fine fish such as pike-perch or turbot with lemon butter, crustaceans in white wine sauce or a fine risotto.

Like an amphitheater, the silvery-grey slate slope of the Ockfener Bockstein opens up, one of the classic vineyard sites of the Saar. Accordingly, the wine presents itself in typical fashion with the unmistakable fruit of Riesling, delicately spicy, characterful and subtle.
