The von Othegraven winery is primarily known for its Riesling wines from the Saar region – from dry estate wines to elegant, age-worthy top wines from the Grand Cru vineyards. In addition to its Riesling range, the winery also offers a rosé and an alcohol-free Cabernet Blanc.

Yes. No animal-derived products are used in the cellar work, which makes our wines vegan.

Yes, but only in legally permissible and safe quantities. Sulfites are also naturally produced during fermentation.

Thanks to clean, gentle winemaking, our Rieslings contain a very low level of histamine.

Yes. In addition to the classic wines, the winery also offers an alcohol-free Cabernet Blanc.

LAGEN & VDP – Origin and Classification

The VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) is an association of Germany's most prestigious wineries. It stands for origin-oriented quality winemaking with particularly strict guidelines in the vineyard and cellar.
As a member of the VDP, the von Othegraven winery is committed to clear origin, sustainable management, reduced yields, and the highest quality standards. The VDP classification (Gutswein, Ortswein, Erste Lage® und Große Lage®) helps wine lovers to transparently assess the quality and origin of the wines.

Entry-level quality from the entire estate – clear, typical and ideal as an introduction to the winery's style.

Wines from high-quality vineyards in a specific location, with a more pronounced sense of origin.

Selected top sites with special terroir and quality potential; limited yields.

The highest classification level: strictly inspected top sites, from which Grand Cru wines and high-quality Prädikat wines are produced.
